School Facilities

Through the generosity of our parishioners and donors, Saint Jude Catholic School moved into our new facility at the start of the 2013-14 academic year. In 2015, we expanded again by adding an elementary wing, a new music room, a new library, and a school chapel for adoration, reflection, and prayer.

School Chapel

All students, from preschool through 8th grade, may attend Mass or Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament as a class, or stop by to visit Jesus during the school day in our beautiful chapel. The school chapel offers a place for quiet reflection for students and reminds them that Christ is a central part of their education at SJCS. We are the only Catholic grade school in the Peoria area to offer a chapel within the school.

Library

The library is a center for learning, research, study and fostering the love of reading. Students visit the library weekly. Grade schoolers check out books for reading at home, while younger students are treated to story time and learn about listening skills and library etiquette. Study areas are available for group and individual work. Our library also houses a state-of-the-art MAC lab and 3D printer.

Gymnasium

St. Jude Catholic School has incredible athletic facilities including a full size gymnasium and locker rooms. In 2022, the school added a climbing wall to a section of the gymnasium. All students participate regularly in physical education classes, with open gym and various sports camps offered throughout the year. For information on athletic opportunities, visit the Athletics Page.

Atrium

The Atrium is home to our Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program. A distinct approach to catechesis, this program helps young children develop deep, lifelong relationships with Christ and His church. In the early church, an atrium was a place where the catechumens were prepared. For our students, the Atrium is a place of preparation for involvement in the larger worshiping community. The Atrium is a favorite destination for our students, where beautiful materials are used to present various doctrines and aspects of the faith in a way that is both appealing and understandable for young children.
